This 26,000 SF project was the first LEED Gold Certified for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) in the State of Delaware, and was completed by The Norwood Company, in conjunction with Trefoil Properties, Cubellis, and CBRE. As Honda's first LEED certifed office space in America, this project serves as a benchmark for future Honda projects.
This 75,000 square foot, Class A office building earned LEED Certification under the LEED Core & Shell Pilot Rating System. Sustainability was considered from start to finish with its many features. To start, construction materials with a recycled content were used, 20% of which were manufactured locally, while 50% of construction waste was diverted from landfills by recycling onsite. A solid base of renewable energy sources is ensured by purchasing 50% of energy through “Green Power” sources.
The DVGBC Philadelphia Office was LEED Certified for Commercial Interiors on November 17, 2009. It is situated within the historic and centrally located One Penn Center, which has regional rail and bus access within a half mile.
Edgewood is an eight-bed facility that provides adult mental health services in a quiet, rural setting. It is licensed as a long-term, structured residence by the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare.
The facility was colocated with an existing composting facility to minimize transportation for the Edgewood residents who work at the facility. The design team sought to protect open space by locating the building on the flattest, clearest part of the property and near an existing access road. The team preserved over 90% of the property area with its natural vegetation.
This project is a design-build of a LEED-EB renovation of an existing 130,000SF Readiness Center and a LEED-NC construction of a new 30,000SF Field Maintenance Shop for the National Guard user.
