Hello everyone,
Thanks to all who came out to our meeting last night to hear about new DVGBC strategic initiatives and brainstorm about what we as the Residential group can decide to take on.
As follow up to my mention of www.EarthAid.net, which last year when I was last on it was a great free web based site to track your energy use and compare to your neighbors, groups you create etc... I just went on the site today, and discovered that last week they rebranded it as www.Myenergy.com and it no longer appears to have the community tracking features I liked. That said, they do have special programs for municipal clients, which would be worth looking into but would cost $. We will see what the ECA has in mind and could find budget for since they are heading up the residential disclosure initiative.
In the meantime, you can still try out www.Myenergy.com for your own home, and apparently you can earn rewards points - I think similar to RecycleBank - for energy reducing. You will need to have your recent utility bills handy to be able to enter some account info to allow the automatic monthly tracking.
Let me know what you think if you try it...! Thanks, /Sherry
