Delaware Valley Green Building Council

Green Advantage Workshop

The Delaware Valley Green Building Council, in partnership with Green Advantage®, is offering a comprehensive national training program for the construction community. This course was created to respond to the construction industry’s desire to adopt construction practices that are more sustainable, economically viable and life-enriching.

With the impact of the US Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program and growth of public demand for green buildings, today’s construction professionals need information about their role in this new arena. The three-day Green Advantage Training Program offers real world, practical information with broader, big picture concepts to prepare students to accomplish four important goals:

  • Understand and enforce the core concepts and construction principles behind sustainable buildings leading to a holistic view of various disciplines of work. This will foster leadership in the industry as younger tradesmen move into management positions.
  • Integrate green practices and strategies into construction processes to lighten the impact on the environment, save energy and improve the health conditions of construction workers and building occupants.
  • Become knowledgeable about the LEED rating system as it applies to construction and be an active partner with design professionals in order to achieve a LEED rated building.
  • Become thoroughly prepared for the Green Advantage Certification Exam. The Exam is a 90 minute long test that will be taken a few days-to a week following the course.
