Roof #1: Waterfront Square Condos and Spa
Waterfront Square Condominiums and Spa is located on the Delaware River and it is holding a phenomenal amount of water. At approximately 70,000 sqft and 8 - 36” of growing medium was installed at the site and the results have proven to significantly reduce/delay rain event. It is on top of the third and fourth floors of the parking garage, so it is accomplishing many things, including stormwater management, functional open space, amenity, etc.
Roof #2: PECO
The 45,000 square foot PECO Headquarters green roof includes both un-irrigated extensive Sedum areas and intensive irrigated areas planted with native perennials specifically chosen for their ability to endure the extreme conditions of this rooftop habitat. The green roof reduces the volume of storm water runoff by 60 to 70% and slows the rate of storm water that does runoff the roof. This high profile green roof is an important component in Mayor Michael Nutter’s goal to turn Philadelphia into the greenest city in the US.

Roof #3: University City Science Center
3711 Market Street is a LEED® Silver certified 155,000 square foot Class A flexible wet lab/ research building that was completed in May of 2008. It is part of a 17 acre master planned project being developed by Wexford Science and Technology with a total of 3,500,000 square feet. There is currently 1,850,000 square feet of existing space that is occupied by several private science and technology research firms as well as the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. 3711 Market Street features 34,000 square feet of GreenGrid® roof with 4,183 2’x4’x4”, 100 2’x2’x4” and 68 2’x2’x4” Triangle GreenGrid® modules.
