Come mingle with local green building enthusiast as you view the Allentown Art Museums groundbreaking exhibition exploring the dynamic field of green residential design as it reaches a turning point of international acceptance by both home builders and the general public. "The Green House: New Directions in Sustainable Architecture and Design" explores exciting trends in green technology, materials and design while probing such key questions as: What makes a house green? Is a green house healthier, safer and more comfortable? Is it aesthetically appealing?
Featuring 11 models, drawings and photographs of 21 contemporary residences, the exhibition highlights outstanding examples of sustainable and aesthetically compelling designs geared toward specific locales such as city, suburb, waterside, mountainside, tropics, desert and a residence that would work in any locale. In these examples, cutting-edge architects and builders around the world have applied green principles to the design and construction of homes that demonstrate the emerging and dynamic collaboration between stylish architecture, interior design and environmental responsibility.
