AIA Philadelphia's Committee on the Environment and DVGBC invite you to participate in an AIA Lunchtime Presentation entitled:
The Radian Apartments: Designed for Recycling

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Philadelphia Library, 201 S. 40th Street, Philadelphia, PA

Join Maurice Sampson, President of Niche Recycling, for a presentation and tour of the Radian apartment building focusing on the waste management and recycling streams that were installed througout the facility. 

Mr. Sampson advised the building's architects Erdy McHenry on how to incorporate the most effective waste management features into the design of the building.  So far, the results have exceeded expectations making this a recycling success story.

The presentation will review:

  • Planning principles for trash and recycling
  • Outcomes when recycling design is ignored
  • Design features at the Radian
  • The first year of operations: expectation and results
  • Tour of the facility

Cost: FREE!  AIA CES credit fee for non-AIA members-$10 (collected on site)
