Tuesday, March 4th, 2003 6:00 pm The Department of Architecture is pleased to present: Professor Thomas Herzog, Bruce J. and Jane J. Graham Visiting Professor of Architecture, Graduate School of Fine Arts, University of Pennsylvania Professor Herzog is a German architect of international standing. He received a doctorate in Pneumatic Structures from the University of Rome in 1971. Professor Herzog works in the area of building systems using regenerable forms of energy, applied research and product models. He has held many professorship positions. Currently, he is the Chair of Building Technology and the Dean of Faculty at the Technical University in Munich. He has worked as a general commissioner for the Federal Republic of Germany to the International Architecture Biennale in Venice and has numerous publications in several languages including five specialized books and seven monographs. He is the recipient of numerous prizes including the EUROSOLAR prize for Architecture and Urban Planning and the European Prize for Solar Construction.
