Meeting and Seminar at the Tyler Arboretum

The Sustainable Landscape & Habitat Diversity Building Block is hosting their first SBN informational and interactive meeting. They are working to promote, enhance, and protect ecosystem health. The Building Block includes sustainable landscapers, restorationists, foresters, watershed preservationists and conservationists, growers, suppliers, organic lawn and landscape care technicians, nature centers and public gardens.

WHAT:
We will have networking time, with wine and cheese, and a members' meeting followed by a presentation and tour of the Tyler Arboretum. The seminar will feature sustainable landscaping and habitat restoration businesses, and business opportunities in this field. The program includes a talk by Mark Gormel, a local nature photographer and native plant consultant. Additionally, SBN members are invited to an open house and tour at 2pm of Dale Hendricks business, North Creek Nurseries in Landenberg.

Executive Director of the Tyler Arboretum will welcome you and introduce you to the arboretum. SBN Co-Chair, Dale Hendricks, will share business stories, opportunities and ideas from the emerging field of Sustainable Landscape Design. This exciting and rapidly growing field also includes Landscape Architects and Designers, Municipalities, and Designers and Suppliers of Green Roofs.

The featured speaker will be Mark Gormel, a frequent lecturer, native plant consultant, musician and published photographer. He will address the questions How do the landscape choices you make affect sustainability? And why is biodiversity important in your yard or landscaping project?
