Designing High-Performance Schools offers you
a unique opportunity to directly and rigorously apply high-performance design principles, strategies, programs and tools to the assessment and redesign of two existing urban schools.
Join together with expert instructors and colleagues from across the nation to explore innovative case studies of high-performance school planning and design that integrate principles of sustainability with teaching and learning.
During this course you will learn about:
site considerations
water conservation
energy management and daylighting
indoor air quality
materials selection and constructability issues
the impact of building conditions on comfort and learning
the use of the school as an instructional tool for environmental education
