A screening of the award-winning documentary, Blue Vinyl will be hosted by The Community Design Collaborative, AIA Philadelphia, Innovation Philadelphia, PENNDesign Department of Architecture, and the Delaware Valley Green Building Council. The screening follows AIA Philadelphia’s Annual Meeting, and all are welcome.

With humor, chutzpah, and a piece of blue vinyl siding, Judith Helfand sets out on a toxic odyssey from Long Island to Lake Charles to Venice in search of the truth about vinyl industry – a detective story, an eco-activism documentary, and a wry commentary on American values. It’s a journey you can’t afford to miss. Connect the dots between ethics, environmental consciousness (or lack thereof) and sustainability.

This film presents a view of the debate about the environmental implications of vinyl. The content of this presentation and conclusions drawn are not endorsed by USGBC and do not represent USGBC policy. The Technical Scientific Advisory Committee of the USGBC is investigating whether and how this product should be treated within the LEED rating system.

DVGBC programming is made possible by our sustaining sponsors:
