“Sustainability Dollars and Sense: Understanding the Costs and Financial Benefits of Green Buildings”
a webcast by The Society for College and
University Planning (SCUP)
Noon to 2:00 pm ET

AIA Continuing Ed. Credits:
This webcast offers 2 hours of continuing education units

We know that many of you are being asked, and asking, the questions which will be answered in very useful ways in our next no-travel webcast.

New research and practical experience about the overall costs and financial benefits of "green" or "sustainable" buildings is changing the perception that building green is considerably more expensive and perhaps not worth the extra cost.

Now, introducing green building practice into the planning, design, construction, and operation of higher education facilities not only demonstrates stewardship of the environment and promotion of a healthier ndoor environment - it's becoming good business sense and a financial investment.

Among our panelists is the lead author of the recently published work that represents the most comprehensive report yet on the costs and financial benefits of green buildings. The report found that the upfront investment of about two percent of construction typically yielded life cycle savings of over 10 times the original investment. You can find that complete, 134-page PDF document, "The Costs and Financial Benefits of Green Buildings," on the US Green Building Council's website here:
http://www.usgbc.org/Docs/News/News477.pdf

Read it, then come and join our interactive webcast and ask your questions of our panelists on May 26!
