This 3 day seminar will focus on hands-on energy modeling for commercial buildings and provide an overview of eQUEST, the state-of-the-art in building energy use simulation tools. eQUEST is based upon the DOE 2.2 calculation engine and is widely used for the energy modeling requirements of the LEED® Green Building Rating System applications.

Instructors

Marcus B. Sheffer is an energy/environmental consultant with over 20 years of experience. His company, Energy Opportunities, Inc. provides technical consulting services on projects relating to energy management, efficiency and conservation, renewable energy systems, and the environmental impacts of human enterprises.

Andrew Lau is a Professional Engineer and an associate professor of engineering at Penn State University, University Park. He has over 25 years' engineering experience in solar energy applications and energy efficiency in buildings with expertise in building energy analysis, green design, solar energy technologies and computer modeling. 

Sheila Sagerer is an Energy Engineer with Energy Opportunities, Inc, a 7group member company specializing in energy and environmental consulting services.  She performs computerized energy modeling and analysis for commercial projects in the LEED® program and evaluates alternative construction and mechanical systems for impact on energy use and life-cycle costs.

A grant from the Sustainable Development Fund will subsidize the cost of attendees from small and medium(40 person) sized firms located in the PECO service territory. A $500 scholarship is available per attendee applied to the cost of the
