There is a big jump in the number and type of news stories related to sustainable design, planning and green buildings. During the past year there has been increased public interest and involvement in global warming and climate change throughout the country. Major newspapers and magazines have run stories on the business of green, new eco-houses, environmental stewardship, and design. Locally, the Philadelphia Inquirer editorials have brought sustainable planning into the political races for the mayor and City Council. The City Paper has presented stories on new green houses, design and construction in the Philadelphia region.

Learn how our local news media are addressing sustainable design and green building, how alternative media are contributing to the awareness of green issues in the city, and how we can help expand this coverage. The presenters will give you tips on what to do and what not to do to be effective in sending your message.

Chris Satullo, Editor of the Editorial Page for the Philadelphia Inquirer, will discuss recent editorials and what is coming up next.

Bruce Schimmel, Founder, Publisher and Writer for the City Paper, will review their green building stories and the follow up we can expect to see.
