Carpenter Hall Educational Programs
Cutting Carbon Emissions: Greenhouse Gas Management Planning in Practice
5:30 - 7:30 pm
Carpenter’s Hall, 320 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA

Continuing Ed. Credits:
This program is worth 1.5 AIA CES (HSW) LUs.

A rapidly evolving set of challenges and opportunities are developing from climate change and the greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions that are causing it. Public expectations and emerging regulatory policies are driving leaders from the public & private sector to participate in finding solutions to climate change. As a result, many leaders are beginning to develop long-term comprehensive climate change strategies. The general process consists of four steps: (1) measure and track annual corporate-wide GHG emissions via a GHG inventory; (2) set a GHG reduction goal; (3) develop and implement a comprehensive GHG reduction master plan; (4) report internally and externally on emission data and actions taken.

Join us for a presentation followed by a panel discussion on entity-wide GHG management planning. Specific focus will be placed on the backbone of the management process, the GHG inventory. The presentation will take an in-depth look into the most widely used international accounting tool for government and business leaders to understand, quantify, and manage greenhouse gas emissions, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).

Join us for light refreshments and hors d' ouvres from 5:30 to 6 pm. The speakers will begin the presentation promptly at 6 pm.
