The Hopewell Solar-Hydrogen House
(9:30 - 11:15 am)
Join homeowner & hydrogen pioneer Mike Strizki for a tour and discussion of the lessons learned building one of the first Solar-Hydrogen Residences in North America. The home features a solar-hydrogen system for hydrogen production and storage that is integrated into an existing solar and geothermal system, and provides for all of the home’s energy needs. The system also includes a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle refueling station. In addition to his home, Mike has built cars, a golf cart, boat, and an airplane that use hydrogen.

The Historic Zero-Energy Raritan Inn
(12:00 - 1:45 pm)
Join building science expert Ed Brzezowsk for a tour & discussion of the lessons learned renovating an historic 1896 Victorian home into a state-of-the-art Zero Energy Inn. The Inn features a 14.2 kW solarelectric PV system on the barn and cottage, a solar hot water system, a geothermal heating/cooling system, on-demand tankless water heating, radiant floor heating, and energy efficient CFL lighting. This pioneering, cost-effective, historic zero-energy retrofit project was profiled by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center (NAHBRC) in a detailed case study report: Click here for report.
