Geothermal HVAC systems have become increasingly popular because of their energy savings, simplicity, and applicability to LEED projects. This presentation takes a look at the ground heat exchange options available in the design of a geothermal system, the special needs and requirements found in schools, and how the system relates to a LEED project.
Speaker Bio:
Howard Alderson is a Philadelphia, PA area consulting engineer and president of his own firm, Alderson Engineering, Inc. He has been a consulting engineer in private practice for over 27 years and has been responsible for the design of over 30,000 tons of closed loop geothermal heat pump installed in over 6,000 wells in northern climates. Howard is a graduate of Drexel University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree.
Both the seminar and the tour are accessible through the Collingswood stop on the PATCO line.
