Sustainable Residential Development

As part of The Green Building Process – from Concept to Completion series, join this panel discussion focusing on the challenges and success of Sustainable Residential Development and how it relates to the new LEED for Homes programs. Each panel member provide a short presentation offering the audience insight into the process of sustainable residential development, spanning from the initial site layout and design to the design of individual homes to the completed development. All three speakers will then be available for a round-table type discussion to provide further awareness into the process based on audience questions.

The Speakers
Michael Szura, CLA, LEEP AP is a Senior Associate and Director of the Landscape Architecture and Planning Group with Langan Engineering & Environmental Services, Inc. Mr. Szura has served as lead designer on various community planning and regeneration work, urban design issues and waterfront and brownfield redevelopment. Recently, Mr. Szura has spearheaded efforts at Langan to expand the menu of sustainable services provide to clients and has also worked to make Langan a more environmentally responsible organization.

David Hartke, AIA, MBA, LEED AP is the Principal of Stampfl Hartke Associated, LLC., an architecture and engineering firm located in Holicong, Pennsylvania. Mr. Hartke co-chairs the Keystone Green Building Initiative (K-GBI) from the Home Builders Association of Bucks and Montgomery Counties and is also Lead Instructor for the Bucks County Community College’s “Sustainable Building Advisor Program.”

Megan Reshetar, CSP, SBA is currently the Green Building Specialist and Sales Associate for Reshetar Custom Homes, located in Pipersville, Pennsylvania. Megan is currently on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association of Bucks and Montgomery Counties and also serves on the committee for the KGBI. Megan was influential in the decision of Reshetar Custom Homes to build Bucks County’s “First Certified Green Community” in Springtown. Currently, two of the twenty-two planned homes are completed and both have received dual certification from the K-GBI and Energy Star.
