GREEN HOMES 101
5:30-7:30 pm
Carpenter’s Hall,
320 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA

Continuing Ed. Credits (Provided by Philadelphia AIA): 1.5AIA/CES (HSW)LUs.

Want to ‘green’ your home? Learn about green design and how to identify green-washing. Discover how to lower your utility bills and live more comfortably in a healthier home!

If you are looking to buy, build or renovate your home using sustainable design principles, join us for a basic, non-technical seminar in high-performance design, materials and systems. You will learn how to find resources to assist you in developing green strategies and tools to track your progress and meet your goals.

This session is geared for people who want to learn more about what makes a home "green". This presentation will be given at an introductory, or 101, level.

Instructors:
Laura A. Blau, AIA
and Paul A. Thompson, AIA, are LEED Accredited Professionals. They are principals of BluPath Design Inc, an architecture firm focusing on sustainable design practices for residential, cultural and non-profit clients. Blau and Thompson have taught design courses in the architecture departments of Philadelphia University and Temple University. Their own home in South Philadelphia was awarded the 2006 Commonwealth Design Award for Sustainable Design and the 2007 IIDA Honorable Mention for Sustainability and Energy Efficiency.
