In 2008 Liberty registered 8451 Willard Drive in Liberty Business Center to be the first LEED certified warehouse building in the Lehigh Valley. This 920,400 SF, Class A, tilt-up concrete warehouse/distribution center earned LEED Silver certification for its high performance design elements.   They were able to divert 83% of all waste generated during construction from landfills, reduce their heat island effect by installing a highly reflective, white TPO roof, and encourage alternate commuting and healthier lifestyles through bicycle storage and changing rooms.  The truckers' lounge office is supplied with solar hot water, while low flow faucets and waterless urinals reduce indoor water use by 30% and water efficient landscaping outside reduces irrigation use by 50%.   Because indoor environmental conditions can affect the productivity of its occupants, high quality T-5 lighting, in addition to low-emitting paints, adhesives, sealants and carpets, maintain a clean, comfortable interior atmosphere.
