Description:

Eco-Beach is a Silver LEED certified property in Bethany Beach, Delaware. It is the first LEED certified home in the state of Delaware as well as Marnie Inc.’s first socially responsible home. The house is outfitted with eco-friendly products including ENERGY STAR appliances, recycled rubber flooring, cement hardipanel exterior, and low VOC paint. The house is insulated with closed cell spray foam insulation as well as BATT insulation. For energy efficiency and low indoor water usage, high efficiency gas furnaces and tankless water heaters were installed. During construction, 90 percent of all material was used and 96 percent was recycled. All wood materials came from sustainable forests and 90 percent of flooring is recycled. Marnie Inc. used local organic fabrics and furnishings to give the house its final eco-touches.
