IMC recently completed and moved to new headquarters. The 25,000SF space houses all production, estimating, finance, sales, marketing and executive personnel. Sustainable design and building practices were used to achieve LEED Gold Certification. Transportation is sustainably considered through bike storage, showers and changing rooms, a close vicinity to alternative transportation, as well as priority parking for low-emitting/ fuel-efficient vehicles and car-pools. Water and energy is conserved through waterless urinals, low flow faucets and showerheads, an extensive use of daylighting, motion detecting light switches, and the monitoring and tracking of electrical usage. Through their construction waste management program 96% of construction waste was recycled! Materiality came into focus through the use of recycled products, wood products that comply with good forestry practices, and materials with low VOC finishes, sealants and adhesives. The IMC headquarters uses enhanced building commissioning, which ensures that a building's systems are designed, installed, and tested to perform according to the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR). This building also utilizes Green Power, or the generation of electricity from clean, renewable sources.
