Is building a three story, 2 bath, LEED Platinum registered home located in the New East Kensington area of Philadelphia at 2217 Coral St. This project was the featured “LEED GREEN” home used for training purposes for this year’s annual “Building Safety Month” by the City of Philadelphia’s L & I Department.

This conference center and office space is an 11,200 square foot commercial space on the 2nd floor of the Cira Centre. Brandywine Realty Trust developed the land at the Cira Centre as Amtrak focused on improving rail traffic and increasing its commercial retail holdings. The HUB – Cira Centre occupies a portion of the 2nd floor of the Cira Centre.

Community Recreation and Environmental Education Center at Haverford Reserve

This past June, Haverford Township’s Board of Commissioners voted in favor of a geothermal energy system for the proposed Community Recreation & Environmental Center, set to be completed in 2012. The facility will be located at Haverford Reserve, on the sprawling 160 acres of land the township has recently developed into a park and nature preserve. The space, located off of Darby and Marple roads in Haverford, was the former home of Haverford State Hospital, which was closed by the state in 1998.

Liberty demolished an outdated single story 35,000 square foot building to create an energy efficient three-story 110,000 square foot Class A office building. If offers sustainable features such as waterless urinals and low flow faucets to reduce water usage, abundant daylighting with larger than normal windows and a three story atrium to provide natural light throughout, and CO2 sensors to bring in fresh air when CO2 levels are too high.

Liberty’s unique redevelopment of a 20-year old building reused 50% of the original building—structural steel and floor plates—while using 20-percent recycled content in the materials used to reconstruct and expand the property by 6,000 square feet. This massive green renovation included installing energy efficient light fixtures, larger windows and higher ceiling heights to provide more natural light to the interior, as well as using highly efficient HVAC systems to reduce the building’s overall energy consumption as compared to a typical building of this size.

In 2007 Liberty demolished two obsolete, single-story buildings to create a 4-story, 104,000 square foot, Class A office building. This adaptive reuse of a well situated site included keeping over 98% of the construction waste out of landfills by recycling it onsite during construction, enlarging windows to increase interior natural daylight, reducing energy use, reducing water usage by 30% with waterless urinals, lower-flow showerheads and sensor controlled faucets, and using CO2 sensors on the HVAC system to refresh spaces with fresh air for occupant’s comfort and well being.

This 75,000 square foot, Class A office building earned LEED Certification under the LEED Core & Shell Pilot Rating System. Sustainability was considered from start to finish with its many features. To start, construction materials with a recycled content were used, 20% of which were manufactured locally, while 50% of construction waste was diverted from landfills by recycling onsite. A solid base of renewable energy sources is ensured by purchasing 50% of energy through “Green Power” sources.

In 2008 Liberty registered 8451 Willard Drive in Liberty Business Center to be the first LEED certified warehouse building in the Lehigh Valley. This 920,400 SF, Class A, tilt-up concrete warehouse/distribution center earned LEED Silver certification for its high performance design elements.

Tasty Baking Company at The Navy Yard

This state-of-the-art 345,500 SF manufacturing facility hosts production as well as warehousing/distribution space for the Tasty Baking Company. Cost saving and environmentally responsible initiatives include: a white roof to reflect heat and reduce heating and cooling loads, low-flow water-saving fixtures in restrooms, landscaping with low/no irrigation plants, and low-VOC paints and carpets to improve the indoor air quality of its spaces and overall productivity of its occupants.
