Join Delaware Valley Green Building Council, Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia, Green Building Alliance, and USGBC Central Pennsylvania for an advocacy day promoting sustainability in the built environment at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg on Tuesday, June 6.
This all-day gathering will begin with a 9am press event and launch of the Icehouse demonstration on the Pennsylvania Capitol Grounds. The Icehouse installation project will demonstrate the difference between a high performance building and one that is built to the minimum 2009 IECC Code standard by observing the speed with which a large ice cube melts in each structure.
Meetings with Pennsylvania State Representatives and Senators will take place throughout the day. Advocacy areas will include building codes, above code building standards, energy efficiency, renewable energy, as well as other legislative measures that promote cost effective and environmentally sound buildings and sites. The coordinating organizations will provide all materials and logistic support for the day.
In addition, a webinar training for participants will be held in the evening on Thursday, June 1, to practice skills and review content in advance of advocacy day.
If you are interested in participating in advocacy day and would like to be added to the event-specific communications list, please fill out the short survey below. This form is not a final commitment of attendance but an expression of interest.
