On November 20-22, 2013, The Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC) and the City of Philadelphia hosted the 2013 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo.  The U.S. Green Building Council organizes this annual event, which brought over 30,000 sustainability leaders and advocates to our region.

The theme for the Philadelphia conference was "Greenbuild Nation," drawing on Philadelphia's roots as the birthplace of the nation.  To build upon the Delaware Valley’s long and storied history of innovation, USGBC and DVGBC sought to leave the City with a lasting gift of service as a thanks to people of the City of Philadelphia.  The Greenbuild 2013 Legacy Project at Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse shows a commitment to not only green building and sustainability but also to Philadelphia and its diverse communities.
